Club Chai · Vienna, Austria
Where Vienna's Jewish youth grow up together.
Club Chai is a community of age-specific programs for children, teenagers, and young adults — built so that belonging doesn't end when childhood does.
What is Club Chai?
One community, built to grow with you.
Club Chai is the youth division of Bet Halevi, Vienna's Jewish community center — a network of programs that meets children, teenagers, and young adults where they are, at every stage from early childhood to their twenties.

The Club Chai Journey
A community for every age and stage.
Rather than a single program, Club Chai is a progression — a different community built for each age, each maintaining its own identity while belonging to one organizational home.
Oneg Shabbat, seasonal camps, and pre-holiday activities for the youngest members of the community.
A weekly framework for children from more observant families, alongside Shabbatons and trips.
Vienna's weekly teen community, with its own Jewish-learning track, Zman Chai.
A weekly community built specifically for girls, with its own events and workshops.
The next step for older girls — weekly programming with added personal guidance.
Torah study and community life for young adults, carrying the journey into adulthood.
CKids Kurs
An enrichment track alongside CKids — music, dance, and art, connecting culture and Jewish life through creative activity.
CSteps
A dedicated community for children with special needs, running alongside every stage of the journey — weekly activities, family support, and Jewish and developmental growth together.

What We Do
The rhythm of a Club Chai year.
Weekly programs
Every age group meets on its own regular schedule — the steady core that everything else builds on.
Shabbat & holidays
Oneg Shabbat, pre-holiday activities, and Shabbatons that bring Jewish time into the year.
Trips & special events
From birthday Jamborees to seasonal camps, trips and events give each community its own calendar.
Jewish learning
Torah study, halacha, and parsha — from CTeen's Zman Chai to JClub's classes for young adults.
Workshops
Hands-on sessions for teens and girls' programs, built around creativity and conversation.
Guidance & support
From parent support in CSteps to psychological guidance in Hamifgash, care that goes beyond programming.
Real Community
This is what it actually looks like.
Our Growth
From occasional events to a structured community.
Club Chai didn't start as an ecosystem of eight programs — it grew into one. The shift itself is the story.
Where it started
- One weekly activity, one brand for every age
- Oneg Shabbat and occasional Shabbatonim
- Programming built around individual events
- Little continuity from one year to the next
Where it stands today
- Eight age- and need-specific communities
- Regular weekly programming in every one of them
- A real registration and communications system
- An educational and social continuum from childhood on
Looking Ahead
What we're building next.
These are in active development — not yet running programs. We're noting them here in the interest of being straightforward about where Club Chai is headed.
A podcast for young adults
A German-language podcast exploring business, music, and personal life for Club Chai's older participants.
An advanced learning track for girls
A structured, professionally supported program of higher-level Jewish study for girls aged 12–15.
A more structured Bar Mitzvah track
Deeper preparation — halacha and parsha study — designed to carry boys directly into CTeen.
A donor & partner community
Regular updates and a closer circle of friends and partners invested in Club Chai's growth.
Partners & Support
Help build the infrastructure behind it.
Eight programs, one continuum, and a lot of quiet infrastructure holding it together. Partners and donors make that infrastructure possible — not a single event, but the whole structure behind it.
Continuity
Funding that follows a child from CKids through JClub, not just one program at a time.
Infrastructure
Registration systems, venues, and the staff who keep eight communities running well.
Responsible growth
New programs launched deliberately, each one built to last rather than launched for its own sake.
